The Mystery Apostle

(The Gift)

There is too much drapery on everything.
Oh Thaddeus you never minded dust
Centuries piling like mass graves
Shiny bits left to dazzle
protruding treasures
flirting with light
                You saw the blue flame
You were a halo of blue your words
a calligraphy of time
Who could have walked in your shoes (?)
Your feet only touched ground
When you felt like slumming
in our wastelands of desire and suffering

            You learned love
by sword by knife by the hazy
layers of our confusions
Drawing water, quenching thirst, washing
away sins, washing away memories washing
away your handprints
Until we
could bear the starkness
of a sun
without shade

            could move cold

                        towards a warming sun.

Very nice Terry. Particularly liked 'flirting with light'. 'walked with your stride'...just a thought.

Hi Phil,

YES! will change the line, more in meaning than mere imitation signifies.  Thanks.
